Program Preview Days are dedicated to bringing quality arts programming to support and enrich school curriculum.  It provides artists with a unique opportunity to demonstrate and inform schools of their programs.

General Artist Information
  • Open to Visual, Performing, Variety and Demonstration artists with programs designed for schools and meet California Educational Standards.
  • New artists must meet requirements in the “New Artists” section to participate.
  • Directories are mailed out to schools through partnerships with the 4th, 5th and 23rd District PTA.
  • Showcase time slots will be given out to:
    • artists who did not get the opportunity to showcase last year
    • new accepted artists
  • artists who showcased last year based on date of registration
  • Each artist will have 5-7 minutes to set up and perform their demonstration.
  • Showcasing artists will be posted online at www.ProgramPreviewDay.com for year-round viewing and direct linkage.
  • All Showcase artists will be rated by the Showcase Arts Panel for quality and content of their demonstration.  If any demonstration is deemed to be lacking, the artist will be required to audition before future showcase appearances.
  • Only artists who participate in the Directory will be able to attend the event.
  • The Presenter Open House has limited table space, floor space and electrical accessibility.  For floor space, please email Dream Shapers info@dreamshapers.org for availability and reservation.  See Presenter Open House information for space size and fees. Tables and floor space will  be assigned on the following criteria:
    • First reserved, first  paid
  • Open House participation requires that artist set up assigned table 30 minutes prior to event start time and stay until close of the event.  Late arrivals could result in loss of table space, given away to a waitlist artist. No refunds for late or no shows.
  • Artists unable to attend or did not reserve a table may send in literature to be placed on a General Artist display table. 
  • Displays must fit on your designated table space (1/2 of an 8’ table).  Please NO large balloons, loud music or sounds or floor displays that would interfere with other exhibitors are allowed.
  • No live performance demonstrations will be held in the exhibit hall.
  • Aisles must remain open for attendees to freely roam around the room
    Artists will be required to:
    • Stay behind their tables 
    • Stay within the designated area of their booth
    • Refrain from marketing themselves in the aisles or halls.
  • Professionalism and courtesy is required of all artists.
  • No selling of products allowed.
  • All efforts are made to provide correct and complete information; however, no refunds will be given based on inaccurate listings.  You will have the ability to review your directory listing and given time to notify us of mistakes.

    • Marketing and publicity

    • Additional year round publicity

Application Information

  • Payment in full is due when submitting your application. Make checks payable and mail to:

  • Credit Card payments are available online through PayPal
  • The Showcase Arts Panel reserves the right to determine the eligibility of all artists, new and returning.  Auditions may be requested of all artists.
  • Organizations and agents can purchase tables to represent their entire organization and directory listings can be made for an entire organization.   There are also discounts available for multi-submissions.  Email info@dreamshapers.org for more information.

Returning Artists
Artists and organizations who have demonstrated at Program Preview Day in the past three years can apply for a Showcase timeslot.

New Artists

New artists who have not demonstrated at Program Preview Day must:

  • Fill out the application
  • Provide sufficient background information
  • Submit a video demonstration or request to attend the April audition before final acceptance into the Showcase.
  • If you are not accepted to demonstrate, your payment less the Directory and advertising (should you choose to take out advertising) fees will be returned.
  •  All presentations must California State Standards compliant.  If you are not aware of these Standards, visit http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/index.asp. 

    New artists must additionally provide:

  • Information showing affiliation with a larger arts organization (OC Performing Arts Center or The Los Angeles Music Center, etc.) or provide 3 references of your school assembly program in the past year.   
  • You must either submit a video/DVD demonstration by 1/6/12.  Mail to Dream Shapers, P.O. Box 3831, Orange, CA 92857.
  • Or, participate in the audition at the OC Department of Education.  There you will demonstrate your 5-7 minute showcase presentation and provide samples of any supplemental information you provide to schools.
